Ken-Caryl Ranch History
|
|
In 1859, Major Robert Boyles Bradford purchased the stone cabin and surrounding acreage. He built a road into the mountains in 1860 that was operational until 1867. The road was called the "Terrible Bradford Road” and ran from Denver to Tarryall, Oro City, Fairplay, Breckenridge and followed the old Ute Trail. Pictured above is the road today.
