Re-Opening Call for Sponsors
Advertiser Support Needed to Produce Community Directory
The Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association is once again putting out the call for sponsors of a new resident directory. At this time, there are not enough sponsors to fund the publication through paid advertising; therefore, all plans for a new directory are on hold. This publication has traditionally been a valued resource for residents of Ken-Caryl. It provides emergency information, historical facts, a guide to Ken-Caryl amenities and how to use them, contact information for neighbors and so much more. If you are interested in placing an ad in the directory for your business, please e-mail: mhastings@kcranch.org for additional information, including pricing.
Water and Sewer Rates Remain Unchanged Second Consecutive Year The Ken-Caryl Ranch Water and Sanitation District (“District”) Board of Directors adopted its 2012 budget on December 21, 2011, which once more holds water and sewer rates at their current level. Denver Water, which supplies 100 percent of the District’s water, raised its rates 15 percent in 2011 and will increase rates 5.5 percent in 2012. Through the utilization of reserves to fund the $1.3 million in capital expenditures budgeted in 2012 and other fiscally sound measures, the District was able to absorb Denver Water’s increase and hold rates unchanged for a second consecutive year.
Please visit the District’s Web site at www.ken-carylwater.org to see the 2011/2012 water and sewer rates.

Urban Coyotes Are Active And Can Be Quite Brave
From the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
Coyotes are active throughout Jeffco and the Denver metro area. In early January, in a neighborhood near Kipling Street and Bowles Avenue, a coyote jumped over a four-foot fence into a backyard. It attacked a small dog — the second coyote attack on the same dog in a year. This is a reminder that “urban” coyotes are active and can be quite brave. FULL STORY >>>
